Full Tilt aims for Largest Poker Tournament in History

Filed under: poker, poker events, poker tournaments — admin July 17, 2009 @ 4:06 am

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament.

Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

durrrr Challenge Page Offers Poker Players In Depth Coverage

Filed under: information, poker, poker events — admin June 24, 2009 @ 5:56 pm

FullTilt has just launched an original info site covering all the action of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an exciting online heads up tourney involving some of the greatest high stakes online poker players challenging the poker sensation Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The innovative new website offers internet poker players and fans the chance to stay on top of this historical online poker challenge and get timely updates. With this new “durrrr Challenge” site players can track all the action and review each poker hand played during the poker challenge, and get tons of statistics, including number of hands played, session time, cash won, average won during each hand and much more.

Close to six months ago, the twenty-three year old internet poker pro delivered a heads-up challenge open to any player with the money, time and capability to accept it. Any poker player entering the durrrr challenge has to bet $500,000 against Dwan’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge specifies that a minimum 50,000 online poker hands need to be played simultaneously at four or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the heads up challenge, the player who has more cash will earn the pool. Essentially if you enter the Full Tilt Challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will win Dwan’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will take home your $500,000.

To date, some professional poker players have agreed to to play the “durrrr challenge”, including Full Tilt Poker Star Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, yet, only Patrick Antonius has said yes to the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Thus far, both poker players have completed in a total of 20,647 hands out of 50,000, with durrrr ahead $726,546 total.

Magnificent New Encore Sin City Hotel-Casino to Unveil Soon

Filed under: Las Vegas, sin city hotels, vegas nightclubs — admin December 23, 2008 @ 2:12 am

encore
Vegas billionaire Steve Wynn without a doubt has something new to be anxious about this Christmas time. With an estimated investment of around $2.3 billion, the brand-new hotel and nightclub called Encore will inaugurate in the next few days.

This deluxe casino and hotel is connected to the tremendously fashionable Wynn Las Vegas on the Vegas Strip. As many Las Vegas, Nevada hotel and casino investors are trying to find a direction to keep their hotels open, Wynn is flying high with his $billion Vegas properties.

This 2000 room hotel-casino is an incredible creation. The centerpiece of this hotel and casino will be the nightclub, XS. Steve has taken notice lately that nightclubs are a huge attraction in Sin City, and not primarily the hotels as they used to be. He thinks that Vegas nightclubs frequently make more riches and are a huge hotspot for the young and hip set.

He has also built a posh steakhouse adjacent to the XS nightclub. The idea behind the popular Colombian painter, Fernando Botero this circular steakhouse has a huge Botero carving as the focal point. Eventhough it is not as fantastic as the nightclub which it is connected to; the Botero steakhouse is thought to complement rather well with the flashy LV nightclub.
The thought behind XS and Botero is a sort of St. Tropez atmosphere, where the bash chugs along nonstop and most of the party occurs next to a pool or beach setting. Times have definitely changed in LV, where folks favor partying to gambling these days.
