Experts Look for Solutions to the Water Problem

With all the talk and hubbub about the lack of water in the Las Vegas area, it is only fitting that even the experts are baffled as to the solution for the problem.  The concept of easily fixing lost resources on the scale of the Las Vegas gambling mecca in the desert is laughable.  The consequences of decades of misuse of the water supply and available resources of the city that exists squarely in the middle of the Nevada desert will be harsh and severe, with no readily apparent long-term solution to the problem.  While many plans and ideas are bandied back and forth between community leaders and environmental planners, there is little indication as to any specific agreement on which plan or what solution might be considered to be suitable.

The plan that seems to get the most attention lately is the idea of piping water from the North Nevada desert down to the Las Vegas area.  While this idea is somewhat solid, and can provide a short-term solution to the problem, the long-term practicality of a pipeline, similar to those that are used in oil refineries and fields, stretching across the Nevada desert for hundreds of miles is somewhat unrealistic, and borders on laughable.  Despite this, Las Vegas planners, responsible for the tremendous amount of revenue that is generated by the Las Vegas shows and Las Vegas attractions in the area, have come together again and again and repeated attempts to come up with suitable ideas and concepts that might work to provide some type of stopgap or at least some temporary relief in the problem.

With water levels constantly dropping and more and more Las Vegas visitors coming into the gaming and gambling capital of the world every day, as well as those who are considering relocating to the area, it seems that a long-term solution and a realistic plan is still out of reach of community planners.  Without some type of realistic idea of how to go about replenishing the Las Vegas water supply, Las Vegas city planners and establishment proprietors are at a loss as to what action to take and how to mitigate the damage caused by the loss of the Las Vegas area water supply.

Experts continue to probe the area for a solution, but at this point it is looking somewhat grim for the Las Vegas area water supply and the future of the Las Vegas area in general
